Michael Taylor (Director and President) founded Taylor Harris Insurance Services in 1987 to specialize in equine insurance. Today Taylor Harris is a prominent sponsor of numerous equine events throughout the United States. Previously, Michael was President of Fasig-Tipton Livestock Underwriters (FTLU), which he joined in 1975 when FTLU was the leading equine insurer in the US. Before coming to the United States, Michael spent six years at Lloyds of London brokering re-insurance business after serving as an Officer in the British Army. Additionally, in 1995 Michael founded Taylor St. Aubyn, now Lumley St. Aubyn, an English-based insurance agency specializing in unique properties.
Bill Weeks (Director and Chairman) is the owner of Sasco Creek Farm based in Southport, Connecticut and Wellington, Florida. Sasco Creek Farm is the home of the Grand Prix mount Madison, a two-time American Grand Prix Association Horse of the Year. Bill is also a board member of the United States Equestrian Team Foundation, as well as a Director of the National Horse Show. His wife and three daughters are all avid equestrians who compete on a national and international level. Weeks is also partner in fresh fruit growers L&S Cranberry as well as director of Vermont Spirits, a premium vodka distillery. Throughout the 1990’s he was a part-owner of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team.
George Harris (Director) is president of George Harris Bloodstock Associates, a Pennsylvania-based thoroughbred bloodstock agency founded in New York City in 1977. He is also president of Kildare Investments, a thoroughbred stallion investment company founded in 1987 which owns stallion shares in Kentucky, Maryland, New York and Canada. Harris was co-owner of four times champion steeplechase eclipse award winner; Flatterer (1983-1986), co-breeder of Irish champion Bluebird (1984) and in 1981 he was responsible for the purchase of champion racehorse Storm Bird (1978) for a world record syndication price. Harris is a patron member of the National Steeplechase Association and from 1992 to 2004 he was a director of Fasig-Tipton.
Anthony Warrender (Director) is president of Warrender Associates, a Virginia based financial consulting and bloodstock investment business, which he founded in 1983. A Chartered Accountant and investment banker, Warrender was previously associated with Coopers & Lybrand in London and vice president of J. Henry Schroder Group in New York, before serving two years as CEO of Fasig-Tipton Co.’s financial services subsidiary. He has served as a director of several public companies, including currently GoldQuest Mining Corp. of Vancouver, B.C. One of the three founders of Taylor, Harris Insurance Services, for most of his adult life he has been a successful owner, breeder, buyer and seller of thoroughbreds.
